After 20 years of producing the original regular Thermohair sock, we introduced the thinner knee high version. The smaller loops are comprised of a finer yarn with the same composition of all our socks, a 75% kid mohair and 25 % nylon. These socks were developed for the tighter fitting ski boots and skates. They fit well in the English riding boot, when you find yourself riding on a cold day. They are also high enough to wear under leg braces.
Although, the loops inside the socks are made with 75% kid mohair and 25% nylon, nylon is added to the outside of the socks to allow stretch and elasticity. This reduces the kid mohair content throughout the whole sock, but the loops you feel inside are still a 75% kid mohair / 25% nylon blend.
When including the outer layer of nylon, the total ski sock content is 62% kid mohair and 38% nylon.
